Is Google + 1 Button The Same as Facebook 'like' ? Button?

Google is trying to be like Facebook because they have launched something  called 'Google + 1, which is pretty much like the Facebook Like Button (see the Google + 1 below)

“Today, +1’s will start appearing on Google search pages globally,” Google Product Manager Nick Radicevic announced on Google’s AdSense blog.

“We’ll be starting off with sites like google.co.uk, google.de, google.jp and google.fr, then expanding quickly to most other Google search sites soon after.”

Google has said that they have partnerships with several publications, including The Telegraph, The Independent, Last.fm, SnapDeal, and El Pais.

Final Cut Pro X Is Out But Is Getting Negative Reviews!

Apple has released an updated version of Final Cut Pro X which is available for $299.99 at a Mac Apple Store.

The program features a 'Magnetic Timeline' for flexible arranging and editing of clips, improved tagging (including auto-analysis of clips). Motion 5 is on there which is a professional motion graphics and Compressor. The Compressor is used for sending a project to Compressor or create custom output settings for reuse in Final Cut Pro. You can share these custom settings with other Final Cut Pro editors, even if they don’t have Compressor installed on their workstations.

Facebook Adds Netflix CEO To Their World

Facebook is taking over the internet world. Today they added Netflix (NFLX) CEO Reed Hastings to their board.

"Reed is an entrepreneur and technologist who has led Netflix to transform the way people watch movies and TV," Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg said Thursday in a written statement. "He has built a culture of continuous rapid innovation, something we share and work hard to build every day."

Hastings joins joins Netscape co-founder Marc Andreessen, Accel partner Jim Breyer, Washington Post Co. (WPO, Fortune 500) CEO Donald E. Graham, PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel and of course Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

"I'm looking forward to working with Mark and the rest of the board to help Facebook take advantage of all the opportunities ahead," Hastings said.

Netflix is getting sued...for violating the Americans With Disabilities Act.

On June 17th, 2011, the lawsuit was filed by the National Association of the Deaf for not providing closed captioning for most of the Watch Instantly feature offered to the public.

Here's what the association had to say:

    “We have tried for years to persuade Netflix to do the right thing and provide equal access to all content across all platforms. They chose not to serve our community on an equal basis; we must have equal access to the biggest provider of streamed entertainment. As Netflix itself acknowledges, streamed video is the future and we must not be left out."

We agree. Netflix and others should provide closed captioning. Although we are surprised that Netflix didn't do that!
